Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Eagles and Ospreys by Roger Tory Peterson for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,054.78). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roger Tory Peterson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work James Flamingos in the Andes, which sold at auction in September 2010 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,219.10).
