Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work The Ogwen Falls, 1850S by Roger Fenton. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,550.84). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roger Fenton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death' in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 157,000.00 (€ 100,847.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Ogwen Falls, 1850S von Roger Fenton zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.550,84) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roger Fenton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death' im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 157.000,00 (€ 100.847,89).
