This artwork by Roger Fenton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2007. In the Photographs auction, the work Bolton Abbey, 1850S sold for GBP 17,300.00 (€ 24,224.48) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Roger Fenton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death' in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 157,000.00 (€ 100,847.89).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Roger Fenton erzielte im November 2007 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Bolton Abbey, 1850S für GBP 17.300,00 (€ 24.224,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roger Fenton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death' im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 157.000,00 (€ 100.847,89).
