This artwork by Rodel Tapaya achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work THE YOUNG GENERAL sold for HKD 212,500.00 (€ 24,264.64) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rodel Tapaya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Repatriated Bodies, which sold at auction in October 2020 for HKD 693,000.00 (€ 76,755.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rodel Tapaya erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit THE YOUNG GENERAL für HKD 212.500,00 (€ 24.264,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 90.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rodel Tapaya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Repatriated Bodies beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für HKD 693.000,00 (€ 76.755,39) versteigert wurde.
