Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work The Tree Of Make Believe by Rodel Tapaya. It changed hands for a price of HKD 175,000.00 (€ 20,656.26) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rodel Tapaya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Repatriated Bodies, which sold at auction in October 2020 for HKD 693,000.00 (€ 76,755.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Tree Of Make Believe von Rodel Tapaya zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 175.000,00 (€ 20.656,26) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rodel Tapaya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Repatriated Bodies beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für HKD 693.000,00 (€ 76.755,39) versteigert wurde.
