Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Origin of the Mountains by Rodel Tapaya. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 300,000.00 (€ 32,299.55), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rodel Tapaya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Repatriated Bodies, which sold at auction in October 2020 for HKD 693,000.00 (€ 76,755.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Origin of the Mountains von Rodel Tapaya zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 32.299,55) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Rodel Tapaya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Repatriated Bodies beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für HKD 693.000,00 (€ 76.755,39) versteigert wurde.
