Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes, which included the work Ferdinand I (1793-1875), Emperor of Austria 1835-1848, in the white uniform of a field-marshal with gold-embroidered collar and black stock, wearing the jewel of the Order of the Golden Fleece, the sash and breast-star of the Imperial Austrian Order by Robert Theer. The price achieved of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,400.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00.
