Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES, which included the work An unusually large miniature of a young lady, facing right in deep blue velvet dress with lace underdress, pink roses and foliage at corsage, fur stole draped around her arms, drop pearl pendant suspended on a black ribbon about her neck, drop pearl by Robert Theer. The price achieved of GBP 2,868.00 (€ 4,121.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Theer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tsar Alexander II of Russia (1818-1881), in black uniform with silver-embroidered red collar and silver epaulettes, wearing the blue moiré sash and breast-star of the Imperial Russian Order of St. Andrew, which sold at auction in November 2007 fo

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.868,00 (€ 4.121,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden.
