Auction result well in line with expectations

In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES, which included the work An unusually large miniature of a young lady, facing right in deep blue velvet dress with lace underdress, pink roses and foliage at corsage, fur stole draped around her arms, drop pearl pendant suspended on a black ribbon about her neck, drop pearl by Robert Theer. The price achieved of GBP 2,868.00 (€ 4,121.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00.
