Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Architecture of Rome and Vatican sculptures by Robert MacPherson was sold in the PHOTOGRAPHS auction at Christies in London in May 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,742.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Robert MacPherson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Mayfair: September (Vertical Orange) In Memory Of E.M.M. in August 2009 with an auction result of AUD 38,400.00 (€ 22,576.12).
