Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Italian views by Robert MacPherson for GBP 705.00 (€ 1,103.99). This price was achieved in the auction PHOTOGRAPHS, MAGIC LANTERNS AND OPTICAL TOYS AND CAMERAS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert MacPherson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Mayfair: September (Vertical Orange) In Memory Of E.M.M. in August 2009 with an auction result of AUD 38,400.00 (€ 22,576.12).
