Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hyacinths, from The Temple of Flora by Robert John Thornton was sold in the Important American Furniture, Folk Art, Prints And Decoys auction at Christies in New York in January 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,500.00 – 5,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,695.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Robert John Thornton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Temple of Flora: six plates in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,848.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hyacinths, from The Temple of Flora von Robert John Thornton wurde im Januar 2008 in der Auktion Important American Furniture, Folk Art, Prints And Decoys bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.500,00 – 5.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.695,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
