The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,500.00 – 5,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,695.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Robert John Thornton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Temple of Flora: six plates in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,848.34).
