Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Roses, by Earlom by Robert John Thornton was sold in the Travel, Science and Natural History auction at Christies in London in April 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,253.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Robert John Thornton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Temple of Flora: six plates in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,848.34).

Die Arbeit Roses, by Earlom von Robert John Thornton wurde im April 2013 in der Auktion Travel, Science and Natural History bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.062,50 (€ 1.253,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
