Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian Barcelona Night No. 9 by Robert Jacks. The price achieved of AUD 9,600.00 (€ 5,740.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Jacks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mister Bloom with his Stick Gently Vexed, which sold at auction in May 2001 for AUD 25,850.00 (€ 15,494.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Barcelona Night No. 9 von Robert Jacks zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 9.600,00 (€ 5.740,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Jacks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mister Bloom with his Stick Gently Vexed beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für AUD 25.850,00 (€ 15.494,71) versteigert wurde.
