Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Yeti Reclining On Rocks) by Robert Crumb. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 5,980.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Crumb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Vulture Goddess in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 221,000.00 (€ 177,681.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2009 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Yeti Reclining On Rocks) von Robert Crumb zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 5.980,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Crumb erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Vulture Goddess im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 221.000,00 (€ 177.681,30).
