Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work Line fishing in Plymouth Sound with warships at anchor beyond by Robert Cleveley. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 795.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Cleveley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch Smalschips And Hookers In A Calm On The Scheldt; And Dutch Smalschips Returning To Their Anchorage On The Scheldt (Both Illustrated) in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,589.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit Line fishing in Plymouth Sound with warships at anchor beyond von Robert Cleveley zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 795,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Cleveley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch Smalschips And Hookers In A Calm On The Scheldt; And Dutch Smalschips Returning To Their Anchorage On The Scheldt (Both Illustrated) im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.589,74).
