Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 1,512.00 (€ 1,689.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Cleveley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch Smalschips And Hookers In A Calm On The Scheldt; And Dutch Smalschips Returning To Their Anchorage On The Scheldt (Both Illustrated) in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,589.74).
