Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection, which included the work A beached boat at Dover, a Picnic in preparation by Robert Cleveley. The price achieved of GBP 1,512.00 (€ 1,689.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Cleveley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch Smalschips And Hookers In A Calm On The Scheldt; And Dutch Smalschips Returning To Their Anchorage On The Scheldt (Both Illustrated) in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,589.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A beached boat at Dover, a Picnic in preparation von Robert Cleveley zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.512,00 (€ 1.689,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Cleveley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dutch Smalschips And Hookers In A Calm On The Scheldt; And Dutch Smalschips Returning To Their Anchorage On The Scheldt (Both Illustrated) im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.589,74).
