Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Robert Clatworthy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2007. In the Twentieth Century British Art auction, the work Seated figure sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,385.25) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Clatworthy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Horse & Rider, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 15,258.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Clatworthy erzielte im Oktober 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Seated figure für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 5.385,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Clatworthy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Horse & Rider beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 10.625,00 (€ 15.258,20) versteigert wurde.
