Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Paul Boston by Rick Amor for AUD 5,975.00 (€ 3,747.17). This price was achieved in the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS at Christies in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rick Amor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Evening By The Sea in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 90,000.00 (€ 53,817.90).
