Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Australian Collecting Driftwood by Rick Amor was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 32,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 31,200.00 (€ 16,089.11). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rick Amor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Evening By The Sea, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 90,000.00 (€ 53,817.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Australian Collecting Driftwood von Rick Amor im November 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 32.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 31.200,00 (€ 16.089,11) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Rick Amor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Evening By The Sea beobachtet, die im August 2007 für AUD 90.000,00 (€ 53.817,90) versteigert wurde.
