Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Dick Watkins was sold in the CONTEMPORARY ART auction at Christies in Sydney in August 2001. The price achieved of AUD 2,115.00 (€ 1,227.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Dick Watkins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Circus, 1981-84 in November 2018 with an auction result of AUD 13,420.00 (€ 11,851.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Dick Watkins wurde im August 2001 in der Auktion CONTEMPORARY ART bei Christies in Sydney versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 2.115,00 (€ 1.227,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dick Watkins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Circus, 1981-84 im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 13.420,00 (€ 11.851,98).
