Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ubumerde by Dick Watkins was sold in the CONTEMPORARY ART auction at Christies in Sydney in August 2001. The price achieved of AUD 16,450.00 (€ 9,549.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 14,000.00 – 18,000.00. Other works by Dick Watkins have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2018 the work Circus, 1981-84 was auctioned for AUD 13,420.00 (€ 11,851.98).
