The work Portrait Of Maria, Duchess Of Gloucester And Edinburgh (1739-1807) With Her Son, William Frederick, Later 2Nd Duke Of Gloucester And Edinburgh (1776-1834), 1779 by Richard Crosse was sold in the The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II auction at Sothebys in London in July 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,764.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Crosse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of John Crosse (1721-1776), The Artist'S Father, Circa 1770 in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 62,048.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
