Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian, which included the work Portrait Of An Officer by Richard Crosse. The price achieved of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,171.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Crosse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of John Crosse (1721-1776), The Artist'S Father, Circa 1770 in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 62,048.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of An Officer von Richard Crosse zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.171,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Crosse erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of John Crosse (1721-1776), The Artist'S Father, Circa 1770 im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 52.500,00 (€ 62.048,86).
