Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection, which included the work Portrait of Joseph England (d. 1792) of the 38th Regiment, circa 1785 by Richard Crosse. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,512.00 (€ 1,689.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Crosse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of John Crosse (1721-1776), The Artist'S Father, Circa 1770 in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 62,048.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Joseph England (d. 1792) of the 38th Regiment, circa 1785 von Richard Crosse zur Versteigerung kam.
