Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a mother and child, circa 1775 by Richard Crosse was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,142.00 (€ 2,392.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Crosse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of John Crosse (1721-1776), The Artist'S Father, Circa 1770 in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 62,048.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a mother and child, circa 1775 von Richard Crosse wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert.
