Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Important Miniatures from a Private Collection, which included the work A Double Portrait Of A Lady And A Child by Richard Crosse. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,748.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Crosse have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of John Crosse (1721-1776), The Artist'S Father, Circa 1770 in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 62,048.86).
