In November 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work Making merry in an inn by Richard Brakenburgh. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,750.00 36% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Brakenburgh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Eve of Saint Nicholas in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 58,600.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Making merry in an inn von Richard Brakenburgh zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.750,00 und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Brakenburgh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Eve of Saint Nicholas im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 58.600,00.
