The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,691.62) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Brakenburgh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Eve of Saint Nicholas in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 58,600.00.

Die Arbeit A Tavern Interior With Card Players von Richard Brakenburgh kam im Dezember 2016 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.691,62) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Brakenburgh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Eve of Saint Nicholas im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 58.600,00.
