Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Cruel Sea by Richard Bosman was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,258.56). Other works by Richard Bosman have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2019 by the work The Chase at USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,738.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Cruel Sea von Richard Bosman im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.258,56) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Richard Bosman wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2019 die Arbeit The Chase mit USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.738,54).
