Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation, which included the work Fishing On The Greta, North Yorkshire by Richard Beavis. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,312.39). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Beavis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Halt Of Prince Charles Edward On The Banks Of The Nairne, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 24,892.07).
