In March 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Eddyville, New York by Reynolds Beal. The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,200.00 (€ 20,373.30), 29% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Reynolds Beal - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marblehead Races, which sold at auction in December 2004 for USD 71,700.00 (€ 52,962.03).

Im März 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eddyville, New York von Reynolds Beal zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 32.200,00 (€ 20.373,30) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Reynolds Beal mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marblehead Races beobachtet, die im Dezember 2004 für USD 71.700,00 (€ 52.962,03) versteigert wurde.
