This artwork by Ren Zhong achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April this year. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Scholars Under Pine Trees sold for HKD 300,000.00 (€ 306,358.70) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ren Zhong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seven Sages, which sold at auction in September 2013 for CNY 8,850,000.00 (€ 1,068,407.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ren Zhong erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Scholars Under Pine Trees für HKD 300.000,00 (€ 306.358,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ren Zhong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seven Sages beobachtet, die im September 2013 für CNY 8.850.000,00 (€ 1.068.407,83) versteigert wurde.
