In June this year Bonhams held the auction Art de l'Avant-Garde à nos jours 1912 – 2068, which included the work Deux léopards marchant by Rembrandt Bugatti. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 533,800.00 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Rembrandt Bugatti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Babouin Sacré Hamadryas in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 2,770,000.00 (€ 2,519,556.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Art de l'Avant-Garde à nos jours 1912 – 2068 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Deux léopards marchant von Rembrandt Bugatti zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 533.800,00 und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rembrandt Bugatti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Babouin Sacré Hamadryas im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.770.000,00 (€ 2.519.556,12).
