Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Casein Tempera No. 9 by Raymond Jonson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,039.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Raymond Jonson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Oil No. 10 in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 67,000.00 (€ 45,615.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Casein Tempera No. 9 von Raymond Jonson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.039,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Raymond Jonson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Oil No. 10 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 67.000,00 (€ 45.615,47).
