Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sanford Tanks by Ralston Crawford was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,828.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralston Crawford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flour Mill #2 in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 654,400.00 (€ 552,609.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sanford Tanks von Ralston Crawford kam im November 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.828,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralston Crawford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flour Mill #2 im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 654.400,00 (€ 552.609,36).
