Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Christies in New York held the auction The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection, which included the work Untitled (Boy In Sheet), 1966 by Ralph Eugene Meatyard. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,829.57) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ralph Eugene Meatyard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, (Flag - derelict interior with Christopher), 1960 in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 33,600.00 (€ 24,597.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Boy In Sheet), 1966 von Ralph Eugene Meatyard zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.829,57) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ralph Eugene Meatyard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, (Flag - derelict interior with Christopher), 1960 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.600,00 (€ 24.597,36).
