Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ralph Eugene Meatyard could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection auction, the work Untitled (Boy Behind Post), C. 1960 changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,361.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Eugene Meatyard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, (Flag - derelict interior with Christopher), 1960 in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 33,600.00 (€ 24,597.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ralph Eugene Meatyard konnte im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Boy Behind Post), C. 1960 für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.361,12) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralph Eugene Meatyard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, (Flag - derelict interior with Christopher), 1960 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.600,00 (€ 24.597,36).
