This artwork by Ralph Eugene Meatyard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in December 2020. In the Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection auction, the work Portfolio Three: The Work of Ralph Eugene Meatyard sold for USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,181.52) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ralph Eugene Meatyard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled, (Flag - derelict interior with Christopher), 1960, which sold at auction in April 2007 for USD 33,600.00 (€ 24,597.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

In der Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection wurde die Arbeit Portfolio Three: The Work of Ralph Eugene Meatyard für USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.181,52) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ralph Eugene Meatyard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled, (Flag - derelict interior with Christopher), 1960 beobachtet, die im April 2007 für USD 33.600,00 (€ 24.597,36) versteigert wurde.
