Auction result well in line with expectations
In February this year Bonhams held the auction Post War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Afternoon, 1982 by Raimonds Staprans. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 63,375.00 (€ 59,776.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raimonds Staprans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Morning Mist, 1986, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 189,375.00 (€ 193,575.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Afternoon, 1982 von Raimonds Staprans zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 63.375,00 (€ 59.776,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Raimonds Staprans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Morning Mist, 1986 beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 189.375,00 (€ 193.575,59) versteigert wurde.
