In April this year Bonhams held the auction Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art, which included the work Marin 5, 1990 by Raimonds Staprans. The »bidding war« ended at USD 75,975.00 (€ 68,817.93), 27% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raimonds Staprans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Morning Mist, 1986, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 189,375.00 (€ 193,575.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marin 5, 1990 von Raimonds Staprans zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 75.975,00 (€ 68.817,93) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Raimonds Staprans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Morning Mist, 1986 beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 189.375,00 (€ 193.575,59) versteigert wurde.
