Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Dutch Colonial Troops Patrolling Mt. Merapi & Merbabu, Central Java by Raden Saleh was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2006. The price achieved of HKD 2,360,000.00 (€ 237,048.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 2,000,000.00 – 2,800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raden Saleh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wounded Lion, which sold at auction in November 2010 for HKD 6,620,000.00 (€ 654,077.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Dutch Colonial Troops Patrolling Mt. Merapi & Merbabu, Central Java von Raden Saleh wurde im Mai 2006 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 2.360.000,00 (€ 237.048,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 2.000.000,00 – 2.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Raden Saleh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wounded Lion beobachtet, die im November 2010 für HKD 6.620.000,00 (€ 654.077,94) versteigert wurde.
