Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Basoeki Abdullah achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in September 2021. In the Travel & Exploration auction, the work A young woman holding a basket sold for GBP 5,737.00 (€ 6,675.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Basoeki Abdullah achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gunung Salak (Mountain Salak) in May 2006 with an auction result of HKD 900,000.00 (€ 90,399.75).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Basoeki Abdullah erzielte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Travel & Exploration wurde die Arbeit A young woman holding a basket für GBP 5.737,00 (€ 6.675,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Basoeki Abdullah erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gunung Salak (Mountain Salak) im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 900.000,00 (€ 90.399,75).
