Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Ringmark by Rachel Whiteread. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,134.00 (€ 1,290.60) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rachel Whiteread achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Colours) in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 445,250.00 (€ 565,695.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ringmark von Rachel Whiteread zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.134,00 (€ 1.290,60) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rachel Whiteread erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Colours) im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 445.250,00 (€ 565.695,14).
