Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September last year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work 50 Spaces, from Tate Modern 21 Years Portfolio by Rachel Whiteread. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,764.00 (€ 2,007.60), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rachel Whiteread achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Colours) in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 445,250.00 (€ 565,695.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit 50 Spaces, from Tate Modern 21 Years Portfolio von Rachel Whiteread zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.764,00 (€ 2.007,60) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rachel Whiteread erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Colours) im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 445.250,00 (€ 565.695,14).
