Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Still Life With Devil'S Trumpet, A Cactus, A Fig Branch, Honeysuckle And Other Flowers In A Blue Glass Vase Resting On A Ledge by Rachel Ruysch was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2008. The price achieved of USD 690,600.00 (€ 465,332.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rachel Ruysch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life Of Roses, Tulips, A Sunflower And Other Flowers In A Glass Vase With A Bee, Butterfly And Other Insects Upon A Marble Ledge in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,885,983.93).
