Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Still Life Of Roses, A Tulip, Hyacinths, Morning Glories And Other Flowers In A Vase, Resting On A Stone Ledge by Rachel Ruysch was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2010. The price achieved of USD 170,500.00 (€ 122,927.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rachel Ruysch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life Of Roses, Tulips, A Sunflower And Other Flowers In A Glass Vase With A Bee, Butterfly And Other Insects Upon A Marble Ledge in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,885,983.93).
