QIAN HUAFO (1884-1964) Dharma Hanging scroll, ink and colour on paper 91.5 x 30.8 cm. (36 x 12 1 ⁄ 8 in.) Signed, with four seals of the artist and one dated seal of gengwu year (1930)
Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dharma by Qian Huafo was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. The price achieved of HKD 30,240.00 (€ 3,623.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Qian Huafo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Buddha in April 2018 with an auction result of HKD 153,400.00 (€ 16,186.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dharma von Qian Huafo wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 30.240,00 (€ 3.623,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qian Huafo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Buddha im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 153.400,00 (€ 16.186,15).
