Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Flowers In Vase by Preston Dickinson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 57,313.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Preston Dickinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life No. 1 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 665,000.00 (€ 534,651.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowers In Vase von Preston Dickinson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 57.313,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Preston Dickinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life No. 1 im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 665.000,00 (€ 534.651,87).
