In December 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Still Life No. 1 by Preston Dickinson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 75,000.00 (€ 54,430.66), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Preston Dickinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life No. 1 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 665,000.00 (€ 534,651.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life No. 1 von Preston Dickinson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 54.430,66) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Preston Dickinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life No. 1 im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 665.000,00 (€ 534.651,87).
